Life lately

Life lately has been great. My summer is almost over, school starting here is right around the corner.  In June I taught summer school for three weeks. Towards the end of summer school, Sarah texted me early one morning from a friends. Her stomach had been hurting all night. I took her to the ER. She had an emergency appendectomy.

After that was over we spent a week in the great state of Texas. I have to say San Antonio was awesome. We had a great time in corpus too, however I'm afraid we missed a lot down there.

I've spent 8 days in workshops several were really good!!  We have restructured our school and put grade levels together. We are excited for the change. Our teams are excited too.

All I know I haven't finished half of the projects I wanted to this summer. I need to get into my classroom and work!!

San Antiono, South Padre Island??

So we are trying to get a vacation together. We'd like to go to San Antiono and South Padre Island Texas. What should we take the time to see? What should we not bother seeing? Also, my husband would like to fish in South Padre, any suggestions??  Sisemorec@gmail.com.

Well, hello

Are you there? I know, I left for a while and didnt think about this little blog for a while.   So much has happened. Where to begin??
* Pennie- (our granddaughter) has grown so so much!! She is such a ham!!

She will have a little sister in August. She can say papa and says it a lot. She calls Sarah "rah rah"

Sarah- as of Monday she will be a sophomore!!!! Holy moly!!!
She has been fishing in a youth fishing club. She and her partner are the only girls in the group. Darryl loves it.

School- school is over for us June 3rd. I'm excited.... However, I'm teaching summer school. You know I need the $$$$. I also will be changing to 5th grade math only. We are blocking 5th grade and will all be at the end of the hall together.  I also made the hard decision to give the cheerleaders up. I'm excited for the young lady who is taking them. I think she will be good for them.  I'll miss the going, but maybe will get into something else. (Like church)

I'll try to come back sooner!!

Hot date

Last night we went on a hot date. Sarah was suppose to meet her feller at the movies and we were going to go eat and ?? We weren't sure... On the way to Fayetteville he called and said he couldn't go... SO change of plans. We went to Viejo and had fajitas and then on to one of her favorite places- Arcadia.
It's this neat little place in Evelyn Hills shopping center where you pay $5.00 to enter and play all the games you want for free. This place has all the vintage games from the 80's. You can literally jump from game to game and play all you want. It was really fun. I played Q-Bert, centipede, Tetris, pac-man, and my favorite Galaga.

How do you do it??

Today is the last day of the year. I haven't blogged since September, however I read other blogs about four times a week. I can't believe how many people blog regularly. I wish I had that stamina. I am expecting a lot in the coming year. I'm excited for changes happening in my professional life and in my personal life.

With one child left at home who is in high school, I feel as though I am being pulled in a different direction with my life. I find that I'm not happy with the job I am doing teaching. While I live my students, my school and most of my faculty, there is something missing..... Or something I just don't get. We are looking currently at changing up our schedule for next year. In my building (middle school) my 5th graders change classes every 48 minutes. They get three minutes to get from one class to another. I'm excited about the change. I hope to teach math to three different pods. I am also currently the junior high cheer coach, I think it's time for a change. While I really enjoy the girls, camp, games, really honestly the whole thing i feel like it's time for a change there too.

In my personal life, I am ready to finish this house. We moved in, in August after renovating the laundry, kitchen and part of the second restroom. We still need to finish the master bed and bath. I would also like to do some landscaping.

My children- Paige and her husband have little Pennie (turned one today) and we just found out (Monday) she will be a big sister in August.

Megan- is finding her own way and hopefully in2015 we can restore that relationship.

Sarah- is living the high life of high school. Half her freshman year over!!!

Hope you have a Happy New Year!!!

Summer is over

I so wish I were a better blogger. I'm not. Lately I have been so so busy. We have worked very hard to repair the floors in Darryl's mom and dad's house. Our goal was to move in before the first day of school. We moved in last Sunday and Monday and I reported for PD on Tuesday. That was cutting it close.  I am still trying to put the house back together. I should be working on lessons but can't bring myself to do them.   I'm going to teach something new this year. ALL the 5th grade science and one class of 5th grade math. I'm excited and kinda nervous all at the same time.   Here is a picture or two before I go
The sun was setting this picture doesn't do it justice.
